Jealousy

Throughout the bible we see God blessing His servants as they walked in obedience to Him.  The life of Isaac, the son of Abraham in Genesis 26:12,14,15 is a perfect example of this: "Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold because the Lord blessed him...He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines envied him. So all the wells that his father’s servants had dug in the time of his father Abraham, the Philistines stopped up, filling them with earth."

As Isaac prospered from God's blessings, envy grew in the hearts of those around him. The Philistines were jealous of the blessings of God on Isaac's life and instead of aligning with God and His principles to receive them for themselves, they let jealousy foster and drove him away and filled the water wells with dirt.

When someone is jealous, they think they should have what someone else has.  Acts 10:34 says that "God is not a respecter of persons" and they can have God's blessing flow to them also.  What He does for one, He can do for others as they walk in His Word.

It is easy to fall into the sin of comparison and want what others have without paying the price for it or aligning ourselves with the same principles in the Word of God.  2 Cor. 10:12 says "For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise."

Nothing can stop God's blessing from flowing to you as you stay connected to Him.  If the enemy of your soul has clogged you up with lies and is trying to drive you away from God's promises and you feel dried up, stay connected to Him and life will come.  The branch that stays connected to the tree in the winter is the one that blossoms in the spring. He is faithful and His Word is true no matter what, and you will bear fruit in your season.
