Navigating Through Seasons of Change

Genesis 8:22 "While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”

As this verse reflects, change is inevitable and is part of our daily lives. All around us things are constantly evolving as every rotation of the earth brings night and day and new seasons. As different seasons come and go and the sun and moon rise and set, we have seasons in our lives too and each one prepares us for the next one.

Although we may go through certain dry spells in our life, or times when everything seems great, there are a few things that do not change and can help us navigate through seasons and change successfully:

ROOTED: Know with full assurance that our roots remain the same in every changing season of life. When our roots are planted firmly in the Word of God we can remain steady and stable no matter what we are going through. It is the fruit that changes on a tree, not the root when the season changes.

TRUST: Proverbs 3:5-6 says " Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." When we are in a transition from one season to the next, we have to trust Him and often step out in blind faith, then we will gradually see the bigger picture as we walk it out.

DON'T COMPARE SEASONS: We all go through different seasons at different times and we can't compare ourselves to each other. 2 Cor. 10:12b says "When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise." Others are not our measuring stick.

IDENTIFY WITH OTHERS: Romans 12:15 Amplified Bible "Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep." We are to come outside of ourselves and identify with those around us.  In fact, the fruit that their lives and ministries produce could be the very source of what encourages and strengthens you in your dry season and time of need.

Let us purpose to stand on what doesn't change, to help navigate us through what does change!
