God Hears Your Heart Cry

It seems like in many situations in life, the thing that is the squeaky wheel gets the attention first. Have you found this to be true?  For example, if you have five kids screaming for you, which one would you pick up first to quiet down? The loudest one?

When something squeaks, such as the brakes on our car, it may be on the verge of breaking or needing repair. However, the longer we wait, the harder and more costly the repair will be. What are some things in our lives that we need to maintain and give our attention to before it "squeaks" and eventually breaks?

In our everyday lives, this means sitting down on the inside, and not just on the outside for times of rest.  How many of us after a busy day plop down in our favorite chair and put our feet up, only for our minds to go a mile a minute as if we just sat down in a race car?

How do we shift the gears of our mind into park and "be still, and know that He is God?" (Psalms 46:10).  We can start by "casting all of our cares, or anxiety on Him because He cares for us" (1Peter 5:7).

We can get quiet and still our minds by praying something like: "Father God, I give to you my cares and anxiety. I know that you are perfecting that which concerns me (Psalms 138:8). You are bigger than my problems, and I let go and trust you. I lay them down at your feet and I consecrate myself to you.  I acknowledge your greatness, and the only care that I will allow in my life is your care and concern for me."

We don't need to be broken and "squeak" to get God's attention, for we already have His attention. Psalms 147:3 says "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." He is listening and will run to your heart cry. Don't delay in turning to Him.
